The New Year.

HAPPYYY NEWWW YEARRRRR!  2010 came and went so fast I could hardly hold on for the ride.  This year I pasted two major milestones:
  1. Graduating from high school.
  2. Starting (and finishing) my very first semester of college.
I also saw so many amazing this year. During the summer I got a chance to finally visit New York and Washington, D.C.. While in New York I went to the MOMA and got to see some of the most A-MAZING works of art I have ever laid my eyes on.
I never grasped why Jackson Pollock was so incredible until I saw one of this paintings in real life.

I learned so much about art this year and have such a better understanding of the art world as a whole.
It amazes me how blindly I loved art while knowing so little about it.

In July I went to comic-con in San Diego for the second time in a row and had a blast!

I'm not one for resolutions, but these are a few things that I would like to happen:
  • BLOG! I feel like this is exactly the challenge I need in my life.
  • Find a part-time job. I know where I want to work I just have to try my hardest to make it happen.
  • Bring my moleskine notebook around with me everywhere! I have been meaning to do this one for a while now because when I am out and about I always hear and see things I need to remember.
  • Step up my wardrobe (probably a never ending goal).
  • Be more accepting of change (probably a never ending goal).
  • Not let good things and people pass me by.

Well here's to the new year...

Cheers!
Emily

First Post!

I have been thinking about starting a blog for a while now, going back and forth not knowing whether this is something that I really want to do. Then I thought what do I have to lose? Nothing.

I once read this article that said in order to a successful blog you must have only one focus. Well, to me that is completely unrealistic to real life. In my life I have so many interests that it is hard to keep up with all of them. I LOVE music, movies, t.v., books, almost all facets of art (including fashion), and all things pop culture (I have attended San Diego Comic-Con the past two years).

So, I plan on this blog to be a hodgepodge of musings from my life. But, who knows what this blog will turn into. Who knows if anyone will even read it. Regardless of what happens, I am excited to start this journey.
